Southend Seafront Fireworks burst back into action on Saturday 26 September 2026, starting at 7:30pm, lighting up the skies with colour, energy, and pure seaside magic. This much‑loved tradition returns bigger and brighter than ever, promising spectacular displays and unforgettable nights for families, friends, and visitors to enjoy.
Now celebrating its 30th year, Southend Seafront Fireworks has become a shining highlight of the city’s night‑time scene, drawing thousands to the seafront for safe, spectacular, and family‑friendly evenings filled with colour and excitement.
The event is proudly delivered by Seafront Businesses & Partners including: Star Amusements, Kingpins, Adventure Island, Sealife Adventure, Beaches Cafe Bar & Bistro, Southend-on-Sea City Council, Southend BID, c2c, Pebbles, The Hope Hotel, Papillon and Chinnerys.
The fireworks are launched from a barge out in the Estuary, just east of Southend Pier, giving you a brilliant, uninterrupted view of the show from anywhere along the seafront - from Sea-Life Adventure all the way to Genting Casino.
Getting here by car
If you're travelling to the Seafront Fireworks by car, please allow extra time for your journey. The roads around Southend city centre and seafront can become very busy before and after the displays, and car parks are often in high demand on Saturday evenings.
We recommend arriving early to give yourself plenty of time to park, enjoy the seafront, grab a bite to eat, and find the perfect viewing spot before the fireworks begin at 7:30pm.

Travel by train and make your night even easier
Alternatively, consider travelling by train - Southend is served by both the Greater Anglia and c2c rail networks, with Southend Central and Southend Victoria stations both within walking distance of the seafront and fireworks viewing areas, making rail travel a convenient and stress-free way to enjoy the event.

With thousands of people lining the seafront to enjoy the fireworks, it's easy for members of your group to become separated in the crowds. That's why we're supporting the Keeping Together scheme.
Wristbands are available from selected locations across Southend. We recommend collecting one before attending the fireworks display, especially if you're visiting with children.
