After a sold-out spring visit, The Revel Puck Circus is back at Chalkwell Park this October half term, bringing their smash-hit Edinburgh Fringe show, The Wing-Scuffle Spectacular - a celebration of fear, to Southend for an alternative, screen-free Halloween adventure.

Following a sell-out run with A Glimmer Daze Gambit earlier this year, East London circus company The Revel Puck Circus returns to Chalkwell Park this October, bringing their critically acclaimed Fringe hit The Wing-Scuffle Spectacular - a celebration of fear to Leigh-on-Sea for the first time.

The Wing-Scuffle Spectacular - a celebration of fear is high octane circus mixed with absurdist storytelling. The show follows a brand new troupe trying to put on their first ever circus show, with each character facing their fears, and the hilarious, high-flying consequences that follow.

Expect the world’s only Giant Rola Bola, teeterboard acrobatics, and daring swinging chainsaw escapes, all wrapped up in an animal-free show that celebrates fear through absurd comedy and jaw-dropping stunts.

The show arrives fresh from a triumphant Edinburgh Fringe run, where it won the prestigious Theatre Weekly’s Best Circus Show - the paper said: "chaos reigns, laughter is guaranteed, and thrills come in spectacular, heart-stopping doses," while Edinburgh Reviews (four and a half stars) called it "a highly entertaining and enjoyable, unpretentious circus show flawlessly performed."

Founder of The Revel Puck Circus, Luke Hallgarten, said: "We had such a warm, friendly welcome from Leigh-on-Sea last time; it made Chalkwell Park our first choice for bringing this year's Edinburgh Fringe show back down south. We can't wait to see everyone again and show them another Pucks Production that carries the heart of our artistic ethos, in a whole new show."

With the run falling over October half term and continuing right through to Halloween weekend, families can expect a few spooky surprises on site, the perfect wholesome, screen-free way for time-pressed local parents to entertain primary-age kids without straying too far from home.
