Shoebury East Beach

Shoebury East Beach

East Beach is a Blue Flag award-winning beach, offering a long stretch of sand backed by a wide grassy area that makes it ideal for picnics and relaxed days by the sea. Set away from the busy central seafront, it’s a peaceful spot that’s perfect for family get-togethers and enjoying a quieter side of Southend.

A popular location for water sports, East Beach is home to the Essex Kitesurfing Club, attracting both beginners and experienced riders. With plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the open views across the estuary, it’s a great place to unwind, stay active or simply take in the coastal surroundings.

Dog Control Orders: No dogs are allowed on Southend’s beaches between 1st May and 30th September. Every person in charge of a dog (except guide dogs) who permits the dog to enter or remain on the beach during this period can be fined.

Please note that a BBQ ban is in place – There is a current Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place banning the use of BBQs on all Southend Beaches. Read more here.
