Leigh on Sea Camera Club Photography Exhibition

The People's Gallery
8.00 am to 7.00 pm

Visitors will be able to see a collection prints from our members who may have a range of photographic experience. There will be a variety of subjects on display which should be attractive to the whole community.

We would hope that visitors go away with the experience of seeing some fine images which may stimulate their own interest in photography or perhaps encourage them to take up this creative and satisfying art.

Leigh on Sea Camera Club was founded in 1929 as a small suburban group, meeting once a fortnight in its members’ houses. The club resumed after World War 2 in 1945 and grew out of post-war austerity into a thriving club of national standing during the heyday of film photography.  Now in 2022 the club remains strong today in this digital world, with our aim continuing to promote the art of photo imagery.

The club continued throughout the Pandemic holding on- line Zoom meetings with member presentations and speakers from around Europe. Digital image competitions continued to be held with some new but experienced judges from across the country.

Leigh on Sea Camera Club remains true in spirit of being part of the Leigh community but meeting on Thursday evenings (7.45pm) are now held at St.  Michaels Church Hall,  SS7 2UW (full disabled access) and also on-line through Zoom.

New members are always welcome whether beginners or experienced and further details about the Club can be found at www.leighcameraclub.co.uk or at the exhibition.

The free exhibition can be seen in the Forum Space near the main reception at Southend Library during the whole of September.
