Explore Southchurch

Whether you're looking for a special gift or in need of something practical, Southchurch has a range of shops for all necessities. Just a short walk to the beach, wide open spaces, a collection of bars and restaurants, and the historic Southchurch Hall, it's a great place to explore.

Southchurch lies between the Kursaal and Thorpe Bay. It’s very much a working retail area, but has many independent outlets with an eclectic selection of gifts.

You can also find a wide selection of restaurants and pubs. Why not try Grumpy’s Diner, where you can experience 50’s America, or Monti’s, to enjoy the taste of Italy – Southend Style. Or if you want fantastic traditional food, visit the Exchange, a converted bank. Coffee and cake are available at Aunt Sally’s. You can also walk down to our seafront; to Billy 100’s for seafood tapas and Ocean Beach for family friendly dining, on the beach.

Southend East Train Station

Southend East station gives you access to a quieter side of Southend. Stroll past the beautifully painted beach huts along the blue flag beach or enjoy a drink at one of the boutique hotels or cafes whilst taking in the sweeping views of the Estuary. Or why not learn more about Southend’s historic past with a visit to Southchurch Hall.
