Into the World of Surrealism

Explore the world of surrealism through the eyes of Edwin G. Lucas – a Scottish self-taught artist whose artworks can currently be enjoyed in the Beecroft Art Gallery.

Whether you’re a creative at heart or are looking for something new to try – this is the perfect workshop for you!

You will start off the workshop with a visit of the exhibition to learn a little bit about the artist. Get inspired by the surrealist artworks and colours, before heading upstairs to have a go yourself! You will be guided by local artist and educator Philippa Stewart to create your own surrealist paper collage artworks inspired by the exhibition.

The art workshop will last for 2 hours in total, with a short break in between.

Family Workshop: 11:15 – 1:15pm

Adults Workshop: 2pm – 4pm

• For the family workshop, we recommend a minimum age of 5 years. Please note that adult supervision is required for the duration of this workshop. If you are accompanying a child for the family workshop and not participating yourself then you do not need a ticket. If you are an adult and would like to have a go – then please make sure you have bought a ticket for yourself!
