What better way to enjoy a day at the seaside than with a ride on one of Southend-on-Sea’s famous open top buses.

And this summer is better than ever, with two scenic coastal routes taking you along the coast, all the way from pretty Leigh-on-Sea, to Southend’s vibrant seafront and then eastwards to the peaceful beaches and fabulous coastal views at Shoeburyness.

For the first time in 2024, our family favourite Seaside Special 68 is joined by brand-new Southend’s 99, with it’s four unique buses celebrating the most popular flavours of local ice cream legends Rossi.

Buses on both routes ​run every 60 minutes on every day they’re operating, but during the school summer holidays and on other busy days all across the season they’ll run a bus every 30 minutes– just check their socials for up to the minute information. ​ You’ll find them on Facebook or X.
