Half Term at Belfairs

Belfairs Nature Discovery Centre

Enjoy a week of fun at Belfairs Nature Reserve. Events include;

Family Forest Morning | 10.00 am to 12.30 pm

Enjoy exploring, creating and discovering amongst the woodland! This is a family morning session based on forest school ethos which is a child-led, play-based ethos – build shelters, discover wildlife, make natural crafts, enjoy the rope swing and hammock and lots more. Led by a qualified forest school practitioner.

Guided Bird Walk | 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm

Take a walk through Belfairs Park and Nature Reserve for some seasonal bird spotting. All welcome. Led by the Wilder Learning Officer! Look for our winter bird life, Nuthatch, Mistle and Song Thrush are Belfairs regulars! Listen out for bird song and spot them amongst the bare winter trees.

Family Wildlife Workshop: Winter Wildlife | Wednesday, 21 February 2024 | 10.30 am to 2.00 pm

Family fun amongst Belfairs Woods learning about our wildlife by the seasons and how we can help them thrive. Bring the family to learn more about our nature and wildlife in this nature-based outdoor session for primary school aged children.

Woodland Explorers | Thursday, 22 February 2024 | 10.00 am to 12.00 pm

Activities including bug hunting, woodland crafts, tool use, mud kitchen and more.

Bird Feeder Creation | Thursday, 22 February 2024 | 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm

Pop to Belfairs Woodland Centre and make a bird feeder to keep your garden and local birds happy and well fed. Just drop in – booking not necessary.

Drop-off Day (over 5’s) | Friday, 23 February 2024 | 9.00 am to 4.00 pm

Get back to nature! Explore wildlife and learn bush craft skills at this school holiday drop-off day. Make shelters, climb trees and use natural materials for crafts. Help to build confidence, enhance self-esteem and develop social skills.
