London to Southend Classic Vehicle Run

City Beach
10.00 am to 5.00 pm

The South Eastern Vintage & Classic Vehicle Club arranges displays at local classic car shows and rallies in the eastern region throughout the season and organises major events of its own each year.

The London to Southend Classic Car Run is the main event of the year, and this year is the 28th annual running of the event, where participants are encouraged to dress in period costumes.

Up to 100 cars follow a route from the East End of London (Fairlop Waters in the London Borough of Redbridge),  through the sleepy villages & towns of rural Essex, emulating the daytrips to the seaside of bygone days, to arrive at Southend seafront where, with thanks to Southend City Council, we use the City Beach area, where our DJ & Master of ceremonies, Peter May from ‘Flippin Mental’ will be entertaining everybody for the day.

On the seafront members of the general public will be able to join in with the day’s events, have a wander around the free classic vehicle display and will have a chance to chat with the owners and reminisce of the ‘Old Days’, as well as enjoying all the things that this popular vibrant and modern sea front has to offer.

Most of our members belong to their own  club whose national meetings may be some distance away, by contrast, the SEVCVC events tend to be held in the local area, affording a greater opportunities for members to participate in shows comprising a varied and interesting range of vehicles, from pre-war family cars to 1950s/60s, American classics, historic commercials and motorcycles.

If you have a classic vehicle (over 25 years old) and would like to join us on the run or at the seafront, please contact www.essexclassicvehicles.co.uk and click bookings.
