A Message from the Mayor
“Armed Forces Day is an important opportunity for our city to come together and recognise the dedication and sacrifice of our service personnel, past and present.
However, given the Met Office’s Red Weather Warning and the very real risks associated with such high temperatures, we must put safety first.
Although we are disappointed that the parade cannot go ahead as planned, we are pleased that a revised and shorter service will still take place so that we can show our continued respect and support for the Armed Forces community.”
Attending the Service
To help keep everyone safe, please:
• Stay hydrated and bring water
• Wear appropriate clothing and sun protection
• Follow guidance from event stewards
Southend-on-Sea City Council remains committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and ensuring their service is recognised with dignity and respect.
