Shoeburyness Garrison Family Heritage Trail

The trail offers a flat, fully accessible route of just over a mile, making it perfect for visitors of all ages and abilities.

The map has been beautifully designed in collaboration with local illustrator Joshua Davey who said “This map aims to capture the historic soul of the Shoeburyness Garrison – engaging a new young and energetic audience with their local landmarks.”

Along the way, walkers will discover fascinating stories, interesting buildings, and hidden gems that bring the area’s rich military history to life.

The 1 1/3rd mile walk has been developed to encourage residents and visitors with children to explore the Garrison’s history at their own pace. With the trail map as a guide, participants can enjoy historical tales, scenic views, and family-friendly exploration.
