East Beach is a long sandy beach that is crowned with a magnificent grassy hinterland making it a superb location to enjoy a picnic. It’s perfect site for a family get together, set away from the central seafront area. A very popular part of the estuary for watersports; East Beach is home to Essex Kitesurfing Club!
It also proudly flies a Blue Flag. The Blue Flag Award, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, is an international award for well-managed beaches with excellent water quality.
Please note that a BBQ ban is in place – There is a current Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place banning the use of BBQs on all Southend Beaches.

Dog Control Orders:
No dogs are allowed on Southend’s beaches between 1st May and 30th September. Every person in charge of a dog (except guide dogs) who permits the dog to enter or remain on the beach during this period can be fined.
