Great for long refreshing walks, Chalkwell beach offers a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the main seaside strip.
There are a number of cafes and kiosks selling all the usual coastal treats and supplies, like buckets and spades, as well as food and drink. Chalkwell train station is just a five-minute walk away.
Chalkwell Beach was awarded a Seaside award from Keep Britain Tidy in 2022.
Please note that a BBQ ban is in place – There is a current Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place banning the use of BBQs on all Southend Beaches.

Dog Control Orders:
No dogs are allowed on Southend’s beaches between 1st May and 30th September. Every person in charge of a dog (except guide dogs) who permits the dog to enter or remain on the beach during this period can be fined.
