The Prince of Prittlewell and the Context of Saxon Funerary in Essex

This lecture examines the context of the ‘Prittlewell Princely’ Anglo-Saxon burial. Through the archaeology and finds at Prittlewell discover the meanings behind this burial, in comparison to other Saxon Funerary sites in Essex; such as Springfield Lyons, Mucking, and Nazeingbury.

  • Date: Wednesday 7th June, 1pm – 3pm.
  • Location: Lecture Theatre of the Beecroft Art Gallery.

The talk will be 1 hour in total, followed by time spent in the Central Museum Prittlewell Princely Burial exhibition to look at the burial finds in more detail.
