Complete a screen printing induction to be able to use the screen printing facilities at The Old Waterworks.
Sessions take place on select weekends throughout December – March. See ticket link for a full list of dates.
Learn the basics of screen printing, be introduced to The Old Waterworks print room facilities and try your hand at printing your own one-colour A4 print. We will cover:
Introductions to the space and facilities
Image prep for your design
How to coat and expose a screen
Basic screen printing techniques
All materials will be supplied, with a limited range of colours and paper.
Please bring an image(s) on a USB stick that you would like to print. We will cover what makes a suitable image, how to prepare the image and print onto acetate ready to expose the screen. The best images to use have bold lines and high contrast, such as text or digital illustration – photographs won’t be used in this session. If you don’t have a suitable image to use, we have lots of pre-prepared designs for you to choose from.
Open Access Sessions
Once you have completed an induction you can book sessions to work on your projects independently. If you would like to carry on screen printing after your induction, you can book onto the open access for the same day.
