Join us for the third installment of Southend CineScene as we present a special screening of Radio On (1979), directed by Christopher Petit. This event is part of the Southend Film Festival Fringe.
A cult classic of British cinema, Radio On is a moody, monochrome road movie that follows DJ Robert as he drives from London to Bristol in search of answers about his brother’s mysterious death. Along the way, he meets a cast of fascinating characters, each contributing to the film’s haunting and enigmatic atmosphere.
Set to a powerful soundtrack featuring tracks by Kraftwerk, David Bowie, and Devo, Radio On captures the bleak beauty of late 1970s Britain like no other film.
Recognised by Time Out magazine as one of the greatest British films of all time, this is a rare chance to experience it on the big screen.
Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged. Pay what you can!
