Contemporary Elders – Bin Day of the Dead

Focal Point Gallery
10.30 am to 3.30 pm

What if all the planet-polluting rubbish we threw away came back to haunt us…?

Join us for Contemporary Elders, Saturday 15 February with artist, Kate Sullivan where we will be making bringing our rubbish back to life!

Following on from Kate Sullivan’s previous workshop where we breathed life into everyday inanimate objects… We will be working to create a zombie film from our rubbish, this could be anything from an old aerosol, wet wipes, polystyrene, vapes or ‘blister’ pill packaging. In this workshop we will be exploring the consequences of pollution on our planet and the subject ‘hauntological’.

Important: Please could you bring something destined for landfill and not recycling.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or just looking to explore a new creative outlet, this is your opportunity to experience a unique and inspiring artistic journey, no previous experience required! Reserve your spot today by calling 01702 534108, emailing us at focalpointgallery@southend.gov.uk, or visiting the gallery to chat with our team.
