Concert Series: Chamber Ensemble of London
Southend Christian Fellowship Plaza CentrePart of the Southend on Sea City Council Concert Series
The Chamber Ensemble of London has featured many times on Classic FM and BBC Radio 3 and appeared at most major London venues – the Purcell Room, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’s Piccadilly, the Banqueting House, Kings Place, Conway Hall etc. The ensemble, up to 14 string players, is directed by the violinist Peter Fisher, amongst a handful of the world’s finest musicians. For many years it was associated with the Wavendon Festival, run by Sir John Dankworth and Dame Cleo Laine. The group’s versatile programming has led to engagements with the London Film Museum in County Hall and the Victoria & Albert Museum. At popular request, we have included this group in the series this year.
Programme to include:
Vivaldi: Concerto for Two Violins in A minor
Marcello: Concerto for Oboe in D minor
works by J. S. Bach, Clive Jenkins, Monteverdi, Handel.
