Between Life and Death – Launch Event
The Forum, Southend-on-SeaBetween Life and Death – Stories of Rescue during the Holocaust
The genocide of Europe’s Jews during the Second World War claimed millions of lives. Among the survivors, some encountered individuals who chose to help them despite the grave risks involved. For both those providing assistance and those struggling to survive, such acts of rescue could lead to severe punishment or even death. The exhibition presents accounts from sixteen European countries.
