Konsztrukting Soundz returns with Evening Seventeen – a night of improvised and experimental music in the beautiful setting of The Fishermen’s Chapel. This special event brings together five internationally acclaimed musicians, each exploring the sound(s) in their own way.
The evening opens with Veryan Weston on the chapel’s tracker-action pipe organ, followed by Hyelim Kim, a leading daegeum (Korean bamboo flute) soloist whose work bridges tradition and innovation. Next, Teresa Hackel and Eiko Yamada create a unique sound world with their recorder duo, before the night closes with Swiss-based artist Jason Kahn, weaving electronics, voice, and field recordings into immersive sonic textures.
Expect an atmospheric journey across cultures and instruments – from the resonance of organ pipes to the breath of ancient flutes, from delicate recorder sonorities to raw electronic soundscapes.
Tickets: £10 advance (https://wegottickets.com/event/668240), £15 cash or card on the door.
Join us for an inspiring evening of sound exploration in one of Leigh-on-Sea’s most intimate venues.
