Park Inn by Radisson Palace
6.30 pm to 8.00 pm

Nana, a beautiful Parisian in her early twenties, leaves her husband and infant son hoping to become an actress. Unable to enter the profession, she descends into prostitution, and is ‘acquired’ by a violent pimp.

This ground-breaking drama explores Nana’s descent into prostitution through a series of 12 “tableaux”, using a cinéma vérité approach to produce a documentary-like feel to this heartfelt drama. An important product of the French New Wave, the film stars Anna Karina, Godard’s muse and an icon of 1960s cinema, who has been described as the “effervescent free spirit of the French New Wave, with all of the scars that the position entails”.
