Printmaking For The Complete Beginner Workshop with Peter HaughThe Old Waterworks 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
Join artist Peter Haugh to create your very own prints. No experience of printing, drawing or making art is necessary; all ages are welcome, although young children should be accompanied by an adult. You will start with a simple design (which you can trace from a selection available or bring your own), working on a small scale (about 11cm x 10cm). Peter will demonstrate various ways of transferring the image to the paper using small wood blocks, water based red, yellow and blue inks and printing by hand and/or with a small printing press.
This will be a relaxed workshop with plenty of help at all stages and an emphasis on having fun. Don’t wear your best clothes as it can get messy and craft knives and scissors will be used to cut wood and paper.
Book your FREE ticket through Eventbrite.
Peter Haugh lives and works in Leigh on Sea making woodcut prints and ‘wood cut effect’ model chairs and furniture, using these to make stage sets which he videos. Peter’s work explores loneliness, isolation and ageing.
