Dementia Awareness Day

The Haven Community Hub
1.00 pm to 4.00 pm

Age Concern Southend are welcoming the community to a Dementia Awareness Day, sponsored by Home Instead.

It is hoped the FREE event will encourage people to take action to improve the lives of people affected by dementia.

Pop along to the Haven Community Hub, Hamlet Court Road on Wednesday 18th May, 1pm-4pm to find out more about what services are available to you and your loved ones locally, supporting people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Over 20 stalls will be on hand to talk about their local services, offer support and give practical advice. Taster classes, demonstrations and various workshops will also run throughout the afternoon, including free health checks, falls prevention advice, carer support services and more.

It will also be a chance to see inside Age Concern Southend’s specialist Dementia Day Service, ‘Days at the Haven’, tour the facility, find out more about our tailored activity programmes and quality respite care. Guests will also be treated to a performance from our Dementia choir.
