Gregory Walmsley grew up in Southend on Sea, and began playing the cello at ten. He was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music where he won various prizes including the John Barbirolli Cello Prize.

Lauma Skride was awarded the Beethoven Ring in 2008, and is highly acclaimed for her interpretations of Germanic classical and romantic repertoire.

The programme to include music by Beethoven, Debussy, Frank Bridge and Schumann.
