Ground Entertainment
The Southend Festival of the Air, now in it's 25th year, is the longest running seaside show.
It is an action packed two-day event, which will take place against the dramatic backdrop of the Thames Estuary on the last Bank Holiday weekend in May, Sunday 30th and Bank Holiday Monday 31st May.
There will be a full afternoon's flying programme on both days featuring the best of military and civil aviation.
The ground entertainments - including exhibits and attractions will run for nearly two miles along the seafront. A full arena programme of entertainment will run from 10am to 6pm both days, and the armed forces are bringing an array of exciting interactive displays along to their town shows.

When returning your application, please ensure you also enclose:
- a photograph of your attraction
- a sketch plan, showing the proposed layout of area required (including any support vehicle,
structure, generators, blowers, queuing areas and entrances/exits). - a copy of your current Public Liability insurance certificate (minimum cover of £5million)
- Equipment Test Certificates
Please note: Failure to provide the requested documentation may result in your application being refused.
Important Information
Dates:Sunday 30th & Bank Holiday Monday 31st May 2010.
Hours of Operation:
Sunday: 10.00hrs - 18.00hrs (optional up to 20.00hrs)
Monday: 10.00hrs - 18.00hrs
Acceptance:
Applications will be evaluated and you will be notified in writing if your application has been successful in principal. Please note that no applications will be fully confirmed until receipt of satisfactory completion of the Council's Trader/Exhibitor Questionnaire that will subsequently be forwarded if your application is successful.
Payment:
The allocation of a site will be confirmed in writing (in principal) by the Council and full payment of the site fee will be required within 14 days of the Council's letter of confirmation and invoice.
Please note - sites cannot be held if the fees are not paid by the due date. All site fees are payable in full in advance of the event.
