Thousands of people are expected to roll into Southend on 23 April 2017 as the town celebrates all forms of arguably, man’s greatest invention – the wheel!

Everything wheel-related and everyone with a passion for wheel-based fun is invited. From super cars to classic cars, wheelchair dancers to daredevil BMX displays, if it moves on wheels, then it will be celebrated.

Southend's first ever  Festival of Wheels will run between 11am-5pm throughout the High Street and the seafront.

Highlights of the Festival will include displays of two, three and four-wheeled beauties, urban sports stunts from ‘Team Extreme’, motorbike stunt demonstrations from global stunt artists ‘Two Brothers Racing’, remote-controlled vehicles, wheelchair dance performances and plenty of opportunities to try out the machinery itself. Not only that, live bands will be performing, along with walkabout entertainers to delight and amuse the kids.

Two wheeled activities are also set to be important highlights of the Festival, local cycling clubs will be on hand to advise visitors about how they can get more from riding their bike, either by riding as part of a group of friends, or with expert advice about how to start racing.

The organisers will create different zones throughout the High Street and seafront, devoted to different themes. The High Street will play host to car displays, live entertainment and a stunt arena while down on the seafront, there will be bike clubs, motorbike flat land stunts, motorbike and scooter displays and more live entertainment.

Family friendly, lots on offer for everyone to enjoy a celebration of everything on wheels!
