*CANCELLED* Leigh Regatta

Old Leigh Regatta, hosted by the Lions Club of Leigh on Sea in conjunction with 3rd Chalkwell Bay Sea Scouts and 4th & 6th Leigh on Sea Scouts.

In addition to the traditional sailing races, welly-hoying, tug-o-war, and cockle eating competition, there will be scores of local community stalls and entertainment and activities for all the family.

The Old Leigh Shanty Festival is coming to the Old Town of Leigh on Sea on Saturday 10th September, as part of the Old Leigh Regatta Weekend.
So far, the following have agreed to perform without charge : The Hogeye Men, The Motley Crew, The Hoolies, Freddie’s Barnetts, The Silver Darlings, Mains’l Haul, Captain Morgan’s Rum Do, The Long Run, PDQ and The Hoy Shanty Crew.
Performances will take place at Billet Wharf, Strand Wharf, The Smack and The Mayflower with the occasional impromptu set at The Cocklesheds.

Sunday starts with the Leigh Salvation Army Service at 11am and continues with a host of music, song and dance throughout the Old Town of Leigh.
