When an adventurous young girl moves to a new house, she finds a secret door that leads to a parallel world which seems to be an idealized version of her own. However, it soon reveals itself to have sinister secrets.

Free Outdoor Cinema screenings at Big Screen Southend returns for the fourth year running. 2019’s theme celebrates a selection of fantasy books adapted to cinema classics on the big screen. From magic board games and secret door ways to wizards and witches, join us for an exciting adventure on screen throughout summer!

Taking place across every Saturday in August, screenings are free and all are welcome. Don't forget to bring your own chairs or blankets and join us for our annual outdoor cinema screenings in the centre of Southend.

Managed by Focal Point Gallery, Big Screen Southend is a partnership project between Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Official South Essex College and University of Essex.

Please note that event photography may take place during this screening for the purpose of promoting future events and offers in Southend. If you do not wish to be photographed, please make an event steward or member of staff aware.
