HERE IN SOUTHEND WE LOVE THE SUNSHINE, EVEN IF IT IS JUST THE USUAL FLEETING GLIMPSE OF OUR BRITISH SUN.

STILL, IN THOSE RARE FEW DAYS, RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ALIKE FLOCK TO SOUTHEND SEAFRONT TO CATCH SOME RAYS AND ENJOY OUR BUSTLING SEASIDE TOWN.

We know how hard it can be to find a parking space at peak times. Here are our handy tips for handling summer on Southend’s roads.

CARPARKS... ARRIVE EARLY!

Central Seafront car-parks can be found on Fairheads Green (next to the Sea Life Adventure),  Seaway (located on Lucy Road) and Western Esplanade. These car parks fill up quickly, but don't panic, there's plenty of other spaces in Southend...

Did you know all town centre carparks are located within a 10 minute walk of the seafront? That includes Essex Street, Tylers Avenue, University Square, and Warrior Square. Not forgetting the Shopping Centre car-parks; Royals Shopping Centre on Church Road and Victoria Shopping Centre on Chichester Road.

Don't mind a longer walk down the High Street? If you’re up for a slightly longer walk why not try one of the car parks on Victoria Avenue which offer over 200 spaces and are just a 20 minute stroll from the Seafront.

FANCY BLUE FLAG BEACHES?

Then you're in luck! Shoebury East Beach and Shoebury Common have both retained their Blue Flag status this year,  and you'll be pleased to know there's around 3000 parking spaces available at Shoebury East Beach and Shoebury Common beaches combined!

Check the VMS (Vehicle Management System) located on the major routes into town for up to date details on available parking spaces. Get Real Time Traffic Info from 16 key sites across the Borough.
