Group Visits at Southend Pier

With truly stunning 360 views all year long it is the perfect place to go for a taste of the freedom of the sea and invigorating fresh air. At the Pier Head you can visit the active RNLI station and gift shop, relax and take in the fantastic views from the superb sun-deck or even try your hand at sea fishing (fishing pass available from the Visitor Information Centre).
Additionally, elegant pleasure boats, as well as impressive visiting Tall Ships, offer trips and a taste of the nautical life at key times of the year, whilst the Pier’s own busy events calendar means there is often something new to see!
Pier trains leave the shore end of the Pier on the hour and half hour from opening until 1 hour before closing. The trains leave the Pier Head at a quarter to and a quarter past the hour until 15mins before closing. This is a half hourly service.
At peak times a 2 train service is operated. Trains leave both ends at a quarter past, half past, a quarter to, and on the hour.
Special trips on the Pier train take place throughout the year such as Ghost Trains and Santa on the Pier. For the latest information on this visitor offer please browse our 'What's On' event page.
